The art world is calling for the visibility of women in a sector in which they are not recognised. Only 10 of the 100 most internationally recognised artists are women and only one of them is part of the top 50 in the world market.

This article analyzes the working and living conditions of workers in the cultural sector in Spain based on data from a survey carried out on 1,384 artists and cultural professionals in 2022. 

Tara for women: when entrepreneurship (also) has a woman's name. The Tara for Women Foundation was born in 2021 with the purpose of supporting women in four different areas: education, business, culture, and social actions. 

Why did you decide to create Tara for Women?

The Third Sector is private and non-profit, run by people for people. 

The third sector is not about making a profit but rather making a difference to society.

Every woman in the world should have her own voice and the means to follow her own dream. Unfortunately, this is not a reality in today's world. Our mission is to be a catalyst for change by supporting women in their academic and entrepreneurial endeavors.

Marta Tena: "Society is not to blame for anorexia, but it doesn't help". Marta is an engineer and founder of Renace, a clinic for the treatment of eating disorders (ED). 

"A few months ago we launched the first edition of the Tara For Women Awards for business initiatives with a social impact led, of course, by women. 140 applications from ten countries were submitted. In the end, three were awarded.”

The winner of the Tara for Women awards is… the Aragonese company Renace! 

Marta Tena won the award for her work in the fight against the rise of eating disorders. 

They signed an agreement to create a framework of cooperation to develop and implement various programs for women. Both institutions will cooperate to launch and promote initiatives to support women entrepreneurs, as well as the creation of training and socio-economic integration programs through entrepreneurship.
