SHABELLA WHY DO YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A #TARAWOMAN?

To society I am a HANDICAP and to the art world I have been one on most occasions, I have always been rejected for my physique. All my life I have been the fat girl, the girl who was pointed at in the street, the last one chosen by her classmates to be on a team in physical education class and the one who was gossiped about by people in the town (and not so much in the town) for example, for wearing a skirt and showing my big thighs at any point in my life, or even the one who always had to listen to “don’t tell anyone” when I experimented with boys, and they always denied it and were ashamed of it.

The one who always goes to a relative's house to say hello and knows that she's going to have the typical conversation about the blessed diet, never fails. The chubby one who has to put up with rude men who think that a girl with a high weight has no chance, and doesn't have the right to choose who she can and can't be with. The one who shows up for a casting for an orchestra, for TV or musical theatre, and they don't choose her because they're looking for an image in terms of the "required" show or because she supposedly doesn't fit the role or there isn't a specific character with a heavy build in the script for that play.

Society has always tried to make me believe that I am not a defect, that I have a problem and that if I get rid of that defect things will be better for me, but no one has questioned whether I want to reject it or not…

My Tara is a revolution, it is the click of my triumph, something that distinguishes me from the rest, something that I feel comfortable with and something that only has one meaning: not because I am fat, I have bad habits, not because I am fat, I have relationships with anyone, not because I am fat, I do not have the ability to sing and dance at the same time while performing on stage, not because I am fat I cannot feel sexy and confident about myself and dress how I want. Simply, I am “Tara” and I choose the labels, not others. In the defect lies the virtue, I am my own yes.

I'm not fat, I'm twice as good and for this and thousands of other examples, I consider myself a "Tara" girl.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR PROJECT.

Music is the greatest medicine for emotional intelligence, it increases confidence levels, improves self-esteem and security.

That is exactly what I want and need to convey to people with my physique and my attitude, and to constantly generate the message of loving oneself well. Creating a unique, revolutionary sound, that contains lyrics in which listeners turn their defects into virtues. It does not matter if their bodies have pimples, spots, stretch marks, cellulite, whether they are tall or short, weigh more or less than normal... through video clips in which they visually reach, in an abstract or direct way, images that are sorely needed and that have never ever appeared in movies or fashion magazines. Because of this society that does not allow naturalness to be seen.

AND HOW IS YOUR PROJECT HELPING OTHER PEOPLE?

Most people suffer emotionally, and the mother of emotions is security. It is what sweeps your mind of bad thoughts. Life has taught me since I was little that fear and shame are two emotions that have something in common, they are not seen if you do not want to show them. People do not know if you have them or not, and in the face of that you have to put up the barrier of security. You are the actor or actress of your own stage and before it, you have more possibilities of winning in any area of life if you want to achieve something.

We are always affected by people speaking badly about our physical appearance, or it hurts us to have a toxic relationship because we do not fully trust our partner, or we look in the mirror and find a thousand flaws... and that is when we start comparing ourselves to other people, and that is when we believe that we are going to be replaced by someone who is "better" physically (whether in the area of love, at work or in a phase of life with ourselves).

I want to normalize that all bodies are valid, that in my videos all kinds of people appear with totally different and 'strange' physiques for society, with a lot of attitude. So that those who are affected by it think about uploading a post or a story without a filter on Instagram and can recognize and love themselves as they are.

As you have already seen, she constantly inspires us to be ourselves and to continue accepting ourselves day by day and that is why we are proud that she is a TARA WOMEN.
