Entrepreneurship and Success

On April 10, we were inspired by Claudia De La Riva in our masterclass “What they don’t tell you about entrepreneurship.” We learned about how to be an entrepreneur and how to be successful.

Claudia is a mother of two daughters, a psychologist, digital nomad, investor and entrepreneur. Her career includes business development, innovation, communication, investment rounds and branding. She is the founder of Ocre, Nannyfy, Nannyfy Tv, Apolo Kids and Kokoro Kids , where she is CEO, a successful app for mental and cognitive training and emotional development for children.

Claudia begins by highlighting some facets of entrepreneurship. For her, selecting the right team and knowing how to manage it is essential for the daily operation of the company and even for attracting investments. In addition, building a strong brand is crucial in today's business environment. Having a clear and compelling value proposition is vital to stand out from the competition. Finally, actively listening to customers and adapting to their needs and desires is essential for growth and market satisfaction.

Entrepreneurship is a master's degree in the vein” was a phrase that Claudia left us regarding a moment of change in her project where she was somewhat disappointed.

According to Claudia, when things are going well, everything is going well, but when things start to go wrong, episodes of betrayal can arise that become obstacles that are difficult to overcome and the feeling of agony can be a constant at these times. Although maximum dedication and commitment are key to achieving success in entrepreneurship, it does not prevent unexpected challenges from arising.

But it doesn't end there. Claudia tells us what helped her overcome these moments: trust and belief. Confidence in oneself and in the project is the cornerstone and a powerful guide to moving forward, avoiding stagnation and activating levers to improve economic viability. Believing and maintaining faith in oneself and in the vision of the project can be the driving force to overcome any challenge and achieve entrepreneurship successfully.

Finally, Claudia leaves us with this reflection on the things she has learned from entrepreneurship:

  1. Thinking that the path is very changing, it is a long-distance race and it is not short-term, is the right mindset to avoid frustrations.

  2. Travel and learn, because ideas appear everywhere, just like talent. They don't care where or when.

  3. You will feel fears and uncertainties, accept it because that is what you should feel if you care about your project.

  4. The path of an entrepreneur is full of challenges, and what seems like a failure is actually an opportunity. Enjoy it!

In short, entrepreneurship is a journey full of dreams, challenges, disappointments and learning that transcends success stories. However, it is precisely in these moments where the true essence of entrepreneurship lies: the ability to persevere, adapt and grow. Understanding and accepting these hidden realities of entrepreneurship prepares us to embrace the path with courage and determination, reminding us that true success lies not only in achieving our goals, but also in knowing how to enjoy the transformative journey that takes us to them.
